What is a Virtual Assistant (aka VA)?

A Virtual Assistant, commonly abbreviated to VA, is a business owner just like you and their business is to offer you remote administrative, technical and creative professional services to assist you in freeing up more of your time in your business. They are not an employee, they are a sub-contractor and therefore they invoice you and you pay their invoice.

Where are the Virtual Assistants located?

We are a Canadian business based in Ontario in a city called Oshawa which is in the Region of Durham located in the Greater Toronto Area. Our team members are located within Canada, mainly in Ontario although we do have a member who is on the West Coast in British Columbia and another member who is currently in Mexico, but she lives in Oshawa as well.  When you are work remotely you can work from anywhere.

What are your hours of operation?

We are open during daytime hours, between 9am and 5pm EST, Monday to Friday. During this time you will be able to contact us as these are our working hours.

How do you manage your workload?

Being a business owner myself, I must balance my time between my clients and my own business development. There are core clients that Efficient Business Solutions (EBS) works with on a daily basis and there are some clients that EBS works with on a project-by-project basis. I have also built a team of experts in various fields to help provide solutions and manage tasks.

What makes you different from other Virtual Assistant companies?

Many Virtual Assistant companies that offer multiple VA services will assign you a VA to work with based on the services you need. Then, if that VA doesn’t work out well, they will assign you another VA. This can be both awkward and frustrating. I have found a different model. I form a connection with people which leads them to want to work with me.  When they become clients, they naturally only trust me and prefer that I work with their clients.  So, my model ensures that anyone I work with works directly with me, and I become the Project Manager.  I manage my clients’ expectations and delegate the work to my team members as needed.

What’s the added value of the EBS model?

I believe in value, and I also believe that you get greater value when your business operations are taken care of by one company.  A single company, or “hub”, that is able to cover your requirements from end-to-end.  As I am the main point of contact, I look at your overall business and offer recommendations to help you run your business like a well-oiled machine with efficient process and systems to support those processes. When you partner with Efficient Business Solutions all services and tasks are able to pass on to us allowing you to have more time for yourself, your family and the growth of your business.

What kind of turnaround time can I expect?

Depending on the type of services you require will determine our turnaround time. For day-to-day operations, we are available to you every day and can turnaround most routine tasks within 24 hours.  For projects, graphic design, website updates or bookkeeping, we will discuss specific turnaround times based on the scope of work.

What if I am unhappy with the service provided?

I am the owner and main point of contact and part of my process is to setup weekly or bi-weekly standing calls with my clients to discuss workload and timelines to ensure we are on the same page. I want you to succeed and to be extremely thrilled with the services you receive. If there is a mistake made by me or my team, we will take complete ownership and make sure it gets fixed immediately, plus put processes in place so that same mistake is not made again. I also review any completed work from my team members before I release it for you to review.
