Before I give you my official answer, I’m going to let you know that it has taken me 4 days to start to write this and I have no idea where it’s going to go, but I’m doing it. Are you feeling the same way? Are you feeling unmotivated? I certainly am, and I don’t know if it’s because its summer, or it’s the pandemic, or it’s because everyone is home and I am out of sorts, or perhaps it is all of this. Regardless, it has been a challenge to do anything besides servicing my clients and tending to my family.
What makes you happy in your business? I am happy when I know I have made a difference in my clients’ business to get them closer to their goals. My happiness comes from my why…why I do what I do. My why is what keeps me going during these times of unpredictability. Here are 3 things you can do to find happiness in your business.
- Keep going, even when you don’t feel like it. We all need to listen to our bodies and minds and when we are not feeling well or need time to ourselves, we absolutely need to take it without apology. I am referring to that after you do that, you need to move forward in any way possible. If having a shower and putting yourself together makes you feel more motivated, then do that and get to work.
- Remember your why. You need to remember why you started your business and why you continue to do your business. We all have moments of throwing in the towel and getting a “J.O.B.”, but we don’t because that’s not what we want to do. If you need to, especially if you are a visual person, put a picture up of your why wherever you know you will see it.
- Ask for help. Whether it’s from your Virtual Assistant, your spouse, your network of entrepreneurs, reach out to someone who you can talk to get a pep talk or actual assistance. Ask and you shall receive.
I am a business owner just like you. I go through the ups and downs of emotions and finances just like you. We are living in a world that, at times, feels both erratic and unstable, and we simply need to find our way through this by surviving…mentality, physically, emotionally and financially.
